LifeCell, Testing & Processing Technology

Once the sample reaches the lab it is registered, tested for infectious diseases and assessed for cell count viability and sterility. After testing the samples are processed by a series of techniques to separate stem cells from the cord blood and cord tissue samples.

Preservation & Retrieval Advantage

Highlights of Preservation Process:

The harvested stem cells are mixed with cryo-preservation solution stored in compartmentalized bags frozen slowly and placed in canisters under -196° Celsius. After the entire process a preservation certificate is sent to every parent and a routine annual preservation report with monthly temperature updates is also shared for the client’s record.

Dual fail-over for power through UPS & DG systems and for refrigeration, self-sufficient for a month, substantial enough to make alternative arrangements
Storage vessels that are connected to electronic transmitters & alarms for continuous monitoring to ensure quick recoveries in event of temperature fluctuations

Retrieval Process & Advantages

The preserved stem cells can be released only for approved therapies upon request from a transplant physician and HLA typing check is done between donor and recipient. Prior to release the stem cells are tested for potency & viability and free expansion of stem cells is done, if needed. The stem cells are then shipped using special dry-shippers to any location across the world for transplant .
